Department Information:

The department of Petrochem & petroleum refinery engineering, established in 2016 offers graduates programs with the objective of providing sound knowledge which are highly beneficial in the field of Petrochem & petroleum refinery practice. The graduates of this department being guided by a well-qualified and industry experienced faculty setup, are provided with knowledge on the basic principles of petroleum geology, physics and chemistry of oil and gas, methods of drilling operations, formations, evaluations, well logging, drilling engineering, reservoir engineering, modeling and simulation, management, risks, environmental concerns, hazards with mitigation plan, petroleum refiningprocessesetc.

Department also put efforts in providing industrial visit to petroleum installation, internship training, individual and group projects under the guidance of faculty and experts.

All the above efforts will help the students to serve the academic institutions and also offer opportunities for developing technologies and innovations in the core areas of exploration, exploitation, drilling, refining etc.

With the support of management, the department is striving hard to enhance the facilities.

Features of the Programmer:

Petrochem & Petroleum Refinery is one of the prime branches of the profession that focuses in reservoir, drilling and production disciplines of hydrocarbon resources in onshore and offshore fields during the exploration, development and operation phases. The oil and gas industries have rich global presence dominated by numerous national and multinational companies. Varieties of opportunities and rewarding careers are in existence for Petroleum Graduates in the fields of oil and gas exploration, reservoir modeling and management, drilling and production operations and marketing of oil and gas. The Petroleum Programme at BIIT has a modern curriculum that emphasizes not only Petroleum fundamentals but also the business management processes that are applied to reach optimal options for field development and exploitation of hydrocarbon. 

Special Features: 

Course contents, professional training programme,projects and other assignments are designed to prepare the graduates to launch their careers in India and overseas in oil and gas companies. During the course, the student of B.Tech. Petrochem & Petroleum Refinery would undergo various professional training programmes and gain hands-on experience. In addition, the student will undergo Health, Safety and Environment Training program related to oil andgas fields thereby preparing the students for taking up the oil field assignments. The college is committed to raising the students as a responsible, committed, socially valuable and healthy person with good moral ethics. 

Course Duration: 4 years or 8 semester’s
