Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of engineering and continues to remain in high demand. It is the broadest of all engineering disciplines and deals with the design and production of tools, machines, and mechanical equipment used in industries.

The discipline covers all aspects of machinery including design, development, construction, production, installation, operation, and maintenance across various industrial sectors.

Mechanical Engineers are essential personnel in both public and private sector industries. With the rapid growth of industrialization, the demand for skilled mechanical engineers has increased significantly.

Every manufacturing and production industry relies on Mechanical Engineers to ensure efficient, safe, and flawless operations within their organizations.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2010 with an intake capacity of 60 students. It was set up to meet the increasing demand of the industry and continues to fulfill the same.

The department is equipped with well-furnished laboratories and modern tools and equipment incorporating the latest state-of-the-art technology.

The general workshop has wide scope due to the fast growth of industrialization, especially in the service sector. Spare parts for automobiles and machines can be manufactured. Repair and maintenance jobs for household items can be undertaken including welding, sheet metal fabrication, and carpentry works.

• Fitting Job: Male-Female fitting work
• Welding Job: Single V butt joint by electric arc welding
• Turning Job: Plain turning, step turning, knurling, and thread cutting

SSSC Lathe (4½”), Radial Drill Machine, Universal Milling Machine, Drill Machine, Bench Drill Machine, Hydraulic Power Saw, Slotting Machine, Bench Grinder, Wood Lathe, Wood Thickness Planer, Band Saw, Carpentry Vice, Bench Vice, Welding Transformers (400 Amp), Anvil with Stand, Swage Block, Forging Hearth with Motor Blower, along with sufficient marking, measuring, cutting, and striking hand tools are available in the central workshop.
